"GCCs: Thank You for Embracing Indian Talent and Benefits"
Innovation, efficiency, and excellence—their name is GCC in India.
Doesn't sound sexy? Can't help!
What about GCCs in China? How much do we know about them, their success, failures and best practices?
Do they claim to be doing the same magic there?
Honest definition of a GCC anywhere-
A Global Capability Center (GCC) is a dedicated "offshore center" of a large enterprise that carries out a variety of "operations," including research, innovation, and "back-end support.".
Don't lose sight of the words like; Operations and Back-end Support work! 😀
GCCs in India are 4-decade old phenomena (Texas Instruments GCC dates back to 1984), still going strong!
Cheaper, faster, and better has become, efficient, innovative, and excellent!
From a low-cost destination to now more than 100 GCC staff in India getting more than a $1 million in annual salary in India.
Of the 1700 GCCs in India, how many do you think really have done innovation for the world? Many, right? But no one knows, in what area the Indian GCCs a strong contender than other GCCs of the parent company in other countries? Is it Aerospace and Engineering, Is it Modern warfare technology, Is it Chip development? Is it Modern drugs and vaccines? Is it EV tech, especially on Long-haul Li-On batteries? What is it?
Does AIM ,ANSR , Zinnov nasscom, Xpheno, etc. know which GCCs in India are leaders in Innovation for the globe? 1.6 million staff and a history of 4 decades must have brought our GCCs to this level for sure!
I am not interested in Efficiency and Excellence factors, if they have come without any Innovation that changed the world of business, in their space!
30000 people work for a GCC Optum, that AIM features here...
Many of these GCCs listed in this AIM report use scores of Indian service providers for maintenance and upkeep of their services! GCCs as many of these mentions, keep "Core" work within GCCs and rest is outsourced to Indian Service Providers! Interesting, isn't it?

Many GCCs are just result of In-sourcing not innovation or even excellence!
Many of these GCCs listed in this AIM report use scores of Indian service providers for maintenance and upkeep of their services! Should we not call many of these GCCs, just Off-Shore centers of the MNCs?
