The rise of Mafia in corporate—she is begging for a job on Naukri.com at a 95L annual salary and a third-grade MBA degree!

WHY does the mafia love and protect the incompetent, fake, and shallow HR folks?

comes from a company where I was a recruiter a few years back. She was hired/human trafficked into life sciences pharma consulting firm in early 2022! Like many others, she also came from a company in Delhi NCR, where many others came at senior levels in the past 3 years or more. They kept referring their own folks so they would feel safe and in control of the mafia-led firm. Management has been the same for the past 17 years...one guy at the top who is irreplaceable. Others have kow-towed to survive here.

When she joined at 60L + 6L (annual variable) in 2022, she was jobless, but the coterie helped, and the mafia loves incompetence so they don't raise their heads, and the mafia feels unchallenged!

One senior director in tech who met her in the Bangalore office in 2022 said this: She is a checklist HR! He was utterly disappointed.

When she joined, she brought in two or three of her previous colleagues in HR, many from her own caste! Yes, Sinha brings more Sinhas/Srivastavas and Thakurs, etc..... This is a simple strategy of the weak and politicking to create a moat around them at work. They only work through a coterie and close circle of arse lickers!

She is nearly out of the system now! What made this change? Perhaps the local mafia could not maintain this utterly ordinary HR person, who became a white elephant on salary terms and didn't deliver anything that she claims in her resume. See screenshots of her CV above...

Those who work/worked in HR and other roles there would bang their heads reading all these outlandish claims that this rat has made in her resume! When HR people are such fakes, God only saves ordinary staff in such firms.

When I was hiring for a Switzerland-based senior role on the sales side there, one senior principal on a call asked her if we had a compensation guideline for that market, and her one-liner response was, "We don't have!" How shameful is this that after she claims that she is an expert of Total Rewards! Utterly disgusting, but she had the mafia saving her ass! But it looks like no longer, as the company is under serious operating margin pressures and has lost many projects after Covid! They are constantly diluting their ownership stake by PE and VC investing in the last 4 years.

Now, with her desperately looking for a job on Naukri.com at 95L annual salary, her stooges, who she brought as associate directors (caste alliances are just not Bihar election's equation thing), have also been seeking jobs on Naukri.com for the past 5 months now.

She is not alone; almost 90% of their HR team is looking for jobs actively on Naukri.com...

They hired a Head of HR in Bangalore a year ago...again, no premier B-school HR degree and someone who didn't update his LinkedIn profile for more than 2 months even after joining such a key role in Bangalore, while he was constantly tagged in company posts by another senior director responsible for campus hiring coordination!

From the time he joined, he communicated in vague terms to HR and the hiring team... The hiring team of 35 people got kicked out in sequence, including even the Director for TA, who otherwise had planned to complete 5 years and collect gratuity money. The HR team, despite being fish out of water, survived because they were caste men/women!

Their senior director for campus hiring coordination recently completed 10 years in the firm. A Class 1 sucker of the mafia, but sadly, he is also desperately looking for a job on Naukri.com. ...

In the last 4 months, he has been active almost daily on Naukri.com...earlier he wrote his compensation at 75+ lacs and 2 months' notice, but just last week, he slid to 68L and 1 month's notice.

KILLING TWO BIRDS WITH A SINGLE SHOT: After the TA Director was recently shelved or couldn't take pressure anymore and decided to quit, this campus recruiting coordinator also got notice, it seems, and the mafia hired a single person at 1.2 Cr from a global HR product firm to replace both the TA and Campus Hiring Sr./Directors. The mafia too needs change when the pressure of cost and performance kicks in after new investors come in.

But, to my shock, this new ambidextrous senior director who joined in Sep 2025 at 1.2 Cr is also now looking for a job on Naukri.com and is expecting 1.5 Cr... Who hires these jokers? Clearly a mafia, right?

The story that I narrated above is very common, and you shall ignore it, as it is almost repeated in every 4th company in India.

TWICE BITTEN, NEVER SHY: This company has an associate director for recruiting in Maharashtra, who, when joined in 2022, was on PIP in the next 3 months... He was also trafficked in through the TA Director... He survived and still is there but is actively looking for a job on Naukri.com. To my surprise, I recently got to hear from a Chicago/Evanston-based pharma consulting firm's contact, where this guy had also worked (or been trafficked by the same manager as in his current job), and was also on PIP there at this Sinha_Zoltner's company...

You may now wonder, how do these incompetents survive?

They survive not just because they suck up but because these companies have accumulated bad karma, and these parasites come to suck their reputation.

Having said everything clearly above, it is not the mafia alone that shall get all the blame for harboring such people and culture but the dirty practice of hiring through managers' referrals. This is not hiring, not even poultry farming, but pure, unadulterated "human trafficking."

This is like creating sleeper cells!

I am not asking you to raise slogans with me. I am not Kanhaiya Kumar!

But, think hard by keeping your hand on your heart and get an answer for yourself for this cell pool of the company culture...

Governance is dead! So, I have the guts to call them mafia and not management!

What is The Hay Group Total Reward Framework

The Hay Group Total Reward Framework A new way of understanding reward Reward strategies must be anchored in business reality to be effective. Which means linking it to your business strategy – and the needs of your employees as well as your organisation. Our Total Reward Framework helps you optimise reward, no matter how challenging the conditions. The issue Remuneration tends to be one of the worst-managed parts of an organisation’s cost structure. But with 10-70 per cent of total costs wrapped up in it, reward cannot be ignored, particularly in a downturn. To be effective, reward programmes must reflect the needs of the business, now and in the future. Only if they are tied closely to company strategy, business performance and the needs of employees can reward programmes deliver the ROI that is needed in tough times[MK1] . The Hay Group Total Reward Framework takes strategy as a starting point – and it focuses on total reward: every financial measure together with no...

Aon Hewitt Total Rewards Framework

Aon Hewitt Total Rewards Framework The Aon Hewitt model and approach believes in considering Total Rewards as a business tool and very much linked to overall business objectives! Reward as understood is a very complex mechanism and some efforts of correcting the base pay and titling in a hurry by many MNCs in India have done a bigger crime by trying to correct it by market adjustments without looking at the talent map, complexity and expectations out of role and mapping it against the benchmark. Titles in India are a big misnomer and hardly any survey on compensation ever probes and captures and calibrates the tangible outcome based bench marking! If we dive deep, we will find that the key factors of Education, Experience and Quality of Education, Quality and relevance of experience and education are not calculated granular! A diploma holder technical manager gets the salary benchmarked for the top T-school manager with top quality experience in a challenging and break-through...

Why Organizations are so BAD at Talent Management? A curious case below..

Founded in 2019 in South San Francisco,   ProcDNA has grown 2x in 24 months....from 100 to 200 as of Feb 25th as you see the snapshot below. I was looking at their India staff data looking actively for jobs as evident on Naukri.com, a leading job portal in India. For past 30 days, 39 staff in India looking out actively. If you check for past 2 months, this number inflates to 49. Median tenure of staff here is 8 months.  What interests me are the following: 27 jobs posted on LinkedIn and 9 out of them are just repetitions. Same job posted many times (5x at times).  There is only 1 Director level job is up there as far as senior open roles are concerned. Many jobs have titles like Senior/Associate/Assistant Engagement Lead, etc.  Below are 4 senior staff in key roles who are active on Naukri.com , looking for next job.  What's wrong here? Nothing....they are just looking out...:) ....But that's a self fulfilling thought, right, especially when you are the co...
