Diversity is about #different #perspectives
Simon Sinek says, different perspectives with same set of common values and goals will thrive.
He says, he would rather hire someone who has no idea about that job and then this person brings whole new perspective..
Now, look at the recent hires into the roles of #Diversity #Inclusion, #Equality, #Belonging and they have experience in #DEIB and the look at the jobs on LinkedIn for #DEIB and you see them looking for a "type"..
Most JDs look like an event manager, who wears a billboard of #DEI all the time and makes every discussion not end without talking about #DEI...
Imagine, we had not had this role earlier and did we really trample upon civil rights, gay rights, ethic rights, gender rights, experience, age and backgrounds?
Remember rights are won after a battle, a long drawn battle and you think a lone #DEI trumpet and an event manager would bring such rights to the #Deprived?
Think again. I will not be surprised when one company looks for #DEI specialist, they will hire a woman, then they will look for #DEI experience and then they will look for industry match and MNC to MNC match to everything match!
#$uck you! It doesn't work that way and it will not not be successful as there is no outcry, no protests, no idols like #NelsonMandela (Apartheid, millions victimized) and Civil Rights , 25 years in jail and Civil Rights movement , emancipating millions and then Dream Comes True! but at a cost of brutal #assassination of #KingJr
Start #DEI as a collective reform...from top to policies to treating customers, employees, nature, make all places and communication and platforms #Inclusive...
#Diversity can't find place without constant and stable change through #Inclusion first...
What actually happened at the three companies
The allegations were more specific than simply "these companies had DEI programs."
IBM. DOJ alleged that IBM used demographic goals, a "diversity modifier" linking compensation to demographic targets, altered interview practices to identify diverse candidates, and restricted some mentoring, training and leadership-development opportunities on the basis of protected characteristics. IBM paid $17,077,043. DOJ says IBM also took voluntary remedial steps, including terminating or modifying certain practices. IBM denied liability.
Deloitte. DOJ alleged that business units tracked demographic goals, that some senior leaders' evaluations—and for roughly 150 senior leaders, potentially compensation—were connected to progress against those goals, and that race or sex entered some promotion and staffing processes. DOJ also alleged that programs including Springboard and Compass restricted eligibility based on race or sex. Deloitte paid $21.5 million, while denying discriminatory conduct.
